After the initial round of launch promotions and events which we handled, HLL found itself out of it depth when it came to selling Lipton Ice Tea to channels other than the grocery segment because that is its distribution strength.We took on the role of their Key Account Managers, cracking 300 outlets across Hotels, Pubs, Restaurants, Bakeries & Fast Food Outlets, Clubs etc.We were responsible for concept selling, product placement, sampling, tailored promotions and events, creatives, production, collections – the whole gamut of a sales operation. The same was done in Bangalore a year later. Subsequently HLL tied up with Pepsi to manage its Bottling and Distribution in 2004.
